Total money lost 700
Same scam from the same people mentioned above.same shipping costs etc

I just got scammed too
1500 dollars
And no response
They seemed legitimate and honest
What a pity
My friend is dying of cancer and we were going to get one for her and one for us
Shame

Reduced priced bengals as the business owners are 'expecting a new litter soon and want to lessen the workload'. They had a sales contract and many guarantees. Once I paid the owner, I got another email from Air Pet Mail saying I need to pay an additional 750 for a special crate for the kitten.

When I questioned the owner they became defensive and stopped responding.

Hi, Thanks so much for sharing this! It saved my money. I had a similar experience like what you have today and want to know more about your experience. Did you successfully get your $600 back from the breeder since I remembered the contract said that it can be refunded within 72 hours?

I submitted a general inquiry about adopting a bengal kitten to bengalbreedershome.com under the "contact us" tab. The page is nicely set up, looks legitimate, has reviews, and contact information. I was surprised to receive a response that there were available kittens and at a discounted rate of $600 (usually around $1,200+). They had a disclaimer that they were more affordable at the moment due to wanting to find good homes for the kittens because they were about to have another litter and that they were temporarily offering free shipping from Oklahoma to anywhere in the US.

They asked me some questions to get an idea of my intentions for the kitten (was I a breeder, had I owned one before, what our environment was like etc.). This seemed reasonable so I expressed that we were interested in adopting a bengal kitten to add to our family as we have an older rescue. I am temporarily furloughed due to COVID-19 so it was a good time to be home with a kitten. They thanked me for my response and ensured that they just wanted safe and loving homes for all of their kittens and that they thought we would be a good fit. They then sent me additional photos of a kitten and a contract to sign before asking for any payment. The contract asked that I do not declaw, take to our local vet within 72 hours, would not resell the kitten, etc. Once I submitted the contract they asked that I submit the payment via Zelle. This is the money transfer program that my local bank uses, and though I had not used before personally I thought it was a safe bet. The contact information for Zelle was for "Kernisha Meadows" Zelle: [email protected] and it was asked that I sent a screenshot once I submitted the payment and had confirmation.

I got confirmation once they received my payment of $600 and emailed the screenshot confirmation. They then assured me that I would be receiving shipping information from "Air Pets Movers", which I did. They requested a deposit of $900 for a temperature controlled crate that would be refunded in full once I had the kitten. This seemed very pricey and also strange so I called the Air Pets Movers phone number. I asked what airline they use and the man said that they use Delta Airlines. I then expressed my concern about the price and that I just wanted to be guaranteed that it was legitimate. The man got upset and said that if I am questioning legitimacy then I do not trust them and that he would cancel the shipment, and then hung up on me. I had a bad feeling a this point so I decided to call Delta Airlines and speak directly to someone in their cargo department. The customer service agent at Delta informed me that is was not familiar with Air Pet Movers and that any cat/dog being transported via Delta can only travel on a DIRECT FLIGHT. He looked up my local airport and informed me that there were NO direct flights today or ever from anywhere in Oklahoma to my local airport and to be careful of scams.

At this point I decided to email the "breeder" (I had briefly spoken on the phone with them but we were mostly communicating via email) and asked them for the status of the shipment and that I wanted to know when exactly I needed to be at the airport for pickup. He responded by saying that the Air Pet Movers man had called him and that he needed to know if I was going to cancel or not so he could retrieve the kitten from the airport and refund me. I expressed that I DID want the kitten but was questioning the legitimacy of Air Pet Movers and that I was concerned about the deposit price for the crate. He responded by saying they use this service all the time and that they trusted them. This is when I responded that I had spoken with a Delta agent and that they warned me that this was not a service they were familiar with. I have not received any emails back and they will not answer my calls. I am upset about the $600 I payed but am glad I did not submit the "deposit" of $900 which was also requested through Zelle. I am very frustrated because I was excited about the kitten but also that what seemed to be good people and an honest website was all a scam.
