Australian Shepherds for Adoption, group Reports & Reviews (1)

- Olympia, WA, USA • May 01, 2024

On Apr 23, 2024 I was on Facebook scrolling through a page I had joined a few months prior. The page is called Australian Shepherds for Adoption, it is a private group- 1.7K members. Jersey Jones is the admin of this group. I saw a puppy I was interested in so I commented on the picture, asking if the puppy was still available. Jersey Jones, the admin of the page responded. She asked where I am from, I replied I am in Olympia and that my husband was wanting some information on this pup. I asked if she was still available? Is she a mini? And how much? She replied yes she is a mini and still available, and they are asking $700.00 for her. She sent more pics and stated her name is Ziva, 9 weeks old, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, healthy, and has her first set of shots. Then proceeded with what she comes with,

Blanket, 1 month of food, crate, 4 month health guarantee. She is good with kids and other animals. AKC registered. Comes with paper work. She is a blue merle. And that they are located in Medford Oregon. I said my husband and I were thinking about it. Then she said she would love to know when we decide. I messaged her back and asked what the process was. First she said we want to know how soon y’all would want her delivered? I said so you deliver. She said Yes, ******. Then we would also need your Full name, Phone number, email address, and house address. I asked her how much it would be to deliver, and she replied back $200.00. I said we live in Olympia, WA. Is that still okay for delivery? She said we have done several deliveries there. Then asked when do you want Ziva delivered? I said weekends are best/ we both work. She then sent a pic of all the stuff mentioned above with what the pup comes with. I said Saturday works for us. Then she sent a pic of her health record. Then, as for the payment, we usually accept full payment for our puppies and deliver them at an agreed time, but being first time adopters, we will be willing to accept an advance payment of $650.00 and balance on delivery. We have options for Apple Pay and Zelle. I said I’m not very good with my phone, I don’t have either one. We usually do cash or debit. Then she suggests a Cash app. I asked her if we could do maybe half on the cash app and the other half on delivery. I am just learning about using an app. She then gave me $mrzelle to send payment to and take a screenshot of payment when done. It didn’t go through at first so then she requested it from me and the $400.00 went through. Then we said goodnight. Apr 24, 2024 I messaged her saying how excited we were and if she could let me know what time approximately delivery would be. She replied around 1ish. I said okay, also can I ask what type of food she is on. She didn’t reply until Apr 25, 2024 She said they actually love the royal canine. Then I asked her when Ziva was born. She replied Feb 20, 2024. Then she asked if I had iMessage. I thought I did, but I don’t and that was the end of the conversation for the day. Apr 26, 2024 she started the conversation and said Hi. How are you? I replied I am good, how are you? She said I am good too. Just reminding you about our deal tomorrow. I said I remember and went on by saying how excited we are. Then I asked if she was the one delivering. She said they were going to use a delivery service and the pup would be delivered to our home. I asked her how she wanted the final payment and if we are using the cash app again. She said once the pup gets delivered you will have to transfer the rest to them. Also, you’ll have to do the $200.00 for delivery today. I replied back and said I thought that was part of the $400.00 that we already paid. She said I am sorry I don’t mean to be difficult , but we didn’t think that way. But there’s not an issue, only the $200.00 for delivery fee then the rest after delivery. Then she made the request for the cash app and we paid for it. The cash app request from Ryan Hill. She said thank you and everything was good. All set for delivery tomorrow. Apr 27, 2024 she started by saying Hi and good morning. I replied back Happy Saturday. She stated she took Ziva to the delivery agency already and they will be sending a message and I already gave them all your information. Please keep an eye on your phone, she said. Then I received a message from this phone number (910)407-4750. The message went on explaining in order for them to proceed with delivery we needed to rent or buy a crate. To rent a crate is $1550.99 and the money will be refunded back to you when the pet arrives at your home and the crate is taken back with us. To purchase the crate it will be $2890.00. This is non refundable as the pet and the crate will be given to you as your property. Crate Rental is Refundable On Delivery. Stated at the bottom of the message. I replied back stating that we already paid the delivery fee. They said any order fee is to be paid by the owner and all the paperwork they had has our names on it. And we were required to get a crate to proceed with delivery. Kindly let us know if you will be renting or buying a crate so we can proceed. So we proceeded by renting a crate cash app info. Name: Nate the Great, Tag $7gn8te. We sent $1550.99. It didn’t go through at first so they used a different tag $Tee Dupre, this time it went through.. About 3 hours later we got another text message saying your puppy is matriculated at the van for transportation, but is facing a problem. The insurance and Quarantine service center requires an insurance certification before they can proceed with the delivery of the puppy. They said the insurance fee is refundable upon the safe arrival of the pet. If the insurance certificate is not provided within 24 hours, the pet will be placed on Quarantine for the next 2 months and the parties related to the pet will be claimed at the court of Law for pet abuse. So the total cost for this is $899.00. This deposit will be added to your refund. This is the last deposit you are to make. Your total refund will be $2499.99.

This is when we finally came to our senses and figured this is a scam. My son and a coworker of mine joined the same page and asked about the same pup. She replied to both of them stating the pup was still available. Her location was changed, for instance my son asked where she was located and she stated Sacramento, Ca. When my coworker asked where she was located she then replied Los Angeles, CA. This is so sad, that there are people out there that can do these kinds of things. We unfortunately are out a total of $2150.99.

The so called delivery Agency contacted me by this number (910)407-4750

Jersey Jones texted me with this number (610)616-4318

Jersey Jones Husband?? Text me with this number (407)337-5976 (name tied to this number Miranda C. $dhsydc when looked up on the cash app)

I was sent a request from this number to pay with Apple Pay (708)682-6548

Most of the conversation was on Facebook Messenger. Then they started texting us with the numbers above. I know we most likely won't get our money back, but hopefully this helps others to be more careful.
