Altitude Comfort All Weather Mechanical Reports & Reviews (1)

- Denver, CO, USA

When my air conditioning stopped working I contacted Just Answer to try to solve the problem and they referred me to the scammer. I checked the website for the company, Altitude Comfort, and it appeared to be a reputable site. A person named Mike answered the phone and came over to my house the next day. He was driving an Altitude Comfort truck. I had to go to a meeting so I left him there to find and fix the problem. He texted me later that the price was $700 and that he had found a short in the wiring. When I returned home the system was still not working. He answered the phone when I called and said he would be by the next morning to fix it. When he arrived, the system was working again and when I told him that I thought $700 was too much for the service, he told me that they used “tier pricing” and that re-wiring was a “tier 4” service. He handed me a paper that did not include Altitude Comfort’s name that showed 4 “levels” of service and related pricing. I told him that I thought the price was too high and I reminded him that he had said the day before that he had only spliced the wires, not “re-wired”. He had his “boss“ call me to confirm that tIer pricing was what all contractors used now and that Mike would be out the next day to “re-wire“ the system. I then called Mike and asked him to replace the “smart“ thermostats currently in the house with simpler devices. The next morning Mike came back, went into the basement for about 10 minutes and said he had done the rewiring. He then took five minutes to replace the existing thermostats and added $400 on to the bill for buying and installing the new thermostats. I then gave him my credit card number. I later discovered online that the thermostats he installed were only about $70 each. The air-conditioning system still does not work properly or consistently and when I call the “company” phone number listed on the website (the same number I had called the first time) no one answers and I get Mike’s personal voicemail which starts out “thank you for calling All Weather Mechanical”. I have left three or four messages asking someone to call me because the system still does not work and neither Mike nor anyone else has returned my calls. When I looked up All Weather Mechanical on line, there is a notice that this website was just opened and in their sister website “All Weather Heating and Cooling” the ScamPulse.com reports that the business has closed. My credit card has been charged for $1100 and I have disputed the charge. I believe that Mike (along with his purported boss) has “stolen” the phone number for Altitude Comfort and was scamming people during the record high temperature days around the Labor Day weekend.
